MHSA sanctioned golf for boys in 1928 and for girls in 1936. Only individual champions were recognized in those early years. Schools' team scores were not kept until 1956 for boys and 1966 for girls. Separate classifications were not recognized until 1978 when separate boys' and girls' team/individual champions were honored by classification. Currently AA and A play in the fall, B and C play in the spring.

*First Day for Competition:  August 16, 2010
State Tournament Dates: October 1-2, 2010

Spring Golf

First Practice Day:  March 14, 2011
*First Day for Competition:  March 17, 2011
State Tournament Dates:  May 16-21, 2011

*No individual shall play in any association golf contest until he/she has a minimum of three (3) days of practice of at least one practice session per day on three (3) different days (no practice permitted on Sunday) prior to the date of the first allowable game

REMEMBER- MHSA Rules and Regulations Section (26) states - Head coaches are required to view the clinic, all assistant coaches and other coaching personnel are strongly encouraged to view the clinics as well.
